Kau Inoa Coffee Hours in to your home!
Do you have questions about Kau Inoa? Know people who want to know more about it? Host a Kau Inoa Coffee Hour!
In November, OHA will kick off a series of Coffee Hours centered around Kau Inoa education. These coffee hours will be a chance for you to gather a small group of ten to fifteen friends, family, coworkers, etc., in your home to discuss Kau Inoa registration. A member of OHA's Community Outreach Team will make the process easy, from sending out the invitations to cleaning up. The hour will include a short presentation and question and answer session. OHA will provide the coffee, a few other beverages and light refreshments.
If you are interested in hosting a Coffee Hour, please contact Dede Alo in OHA's Hawaiian Governance Division at 594-0219.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ON HOSTING A COFFEE HOUR
1. How long is a Coffee Hour? Presentation lasts 1 hour. Allow 2 hours for set up and clean up – and another hour for questions.
2. How many guests should I have present at the Coffee Hour? You should plan to have 15 guests present. We ask that you invite 20 – 30 people in order to reach this goal.
3. Is there a pre-printed invitation OHA provides for inviting guests? Yes, OHA will provide pre-printed invitations for you to use. We will mail your invitations to you.
4. Is there a certain way I need to set up my home? We will need seating enough for you and yours guests, a table or counter for food and beverages, and another table or counter for registration (sign-in, name tags and programs – preferably near the entrance). If you have a DVD player and television in the area that we may use, that will be most appreciated. If not, we will need an outlet to power our own system.
5. Who can I invite? Anyone interested in Kau Inoa or nationhood is welcome to attend – Hawaiian and non-Hawaiians alike. Feel free to invite family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, classmates, or members of your church, club, or association. We will be happy to help you develop your guest list.
6. What materials will I need? A Menu and Program for the event and a sample Guest Packet will be sent to you. (See Menu, Program Agenda and Guest Packet materials below).
7. Who can I contact if I have any questions? If you have any questions or require any assistance, please contact Dede Alo at 594-0219.
